“Coming from an agricultural background in Zimbabwe, I am really enjoying learning and getting to know the Australian way of farming and the business elements to it. I find it all very interesting being able to compare and find similarities of the Zimbabwean and Australian lifestyle. I would highly recommend studying at the UNE to any International student. I am confident I will keep on enjoying my three years here and have many more exciting aspects of college life ahead.”

At first, I really couldn't adapt to such a strange and stressful learning model as I had to complete some quizzes and difficult essays within the specified time. After completing these assignments, I had to review the lecture notes to get prepared for the final exam. Sometimes unprecedented learning patterns and language barriers made me feel helpless and stressful. But after some time, I found the shortcomings of my study and gradually found a learning method that was suitable for me.

"The reason why I chose to study here is because UNE is considered the best university in Australia in the field of agricultural and environmental science particularly animal and crop science. The current and well-designed curriculum with a good combination of theory, management and practical components in each unit is excellent and this is what I really need to enhance my career in the future. In the class, the very reputable, professional and friendly lecturers are extremely helpful in achieving the learning outcomes of each unit that I enrolled."

"Meat ants are a dominant native species, living over a large part of Australia, and they may play some important ecological roles that we don’t yet know about. My study will hopefully provide critical information on how meat ants live now but also some clues to their future." Read more about Nirosha's discoveries here.
