I chose to study the Bachelor of Business because I have always been passionate about numbers and the way share markets and money are managed. To me, understanding how to analyse and predict situations with the use of numbers is one of the most integral parts of today’s society. Learning how to manage and interpret accounts and financial statements for companies is one of my favourite parts about my degree.

Initially I didn’t even think that I could get into university and so had given up on my childhood dream of being a marine biologist a long time ago. After attending a university fair in Singapore, I found out that I could actually pursue my dreams at Murdoch and so I worked hard and never looked back. I love being able to learn about new topics through my course and being exposed to things that I never would have been able to see back in Singapore. As part of my course I have been able to see a range of plants and animals that I had previously only seen on National Geographic as a kid, which has been a great experience.
Since completing my internship with a local Perth digital marketing agency, I have developed an interest in the field and would like to pursue a job in the digital marketing industry. Murdoch has provided me with the platform, through my internship unit, to gain hands-on experience and has really opened my eyes to this industry. This experience has been priceless and has provided me with a platform in which I know have taken a step in the right direction.

The structure of the vet degree at Murdoch is excellent and the people within the course are so considerate. As vet students, we need to accumulate industry-based animal experience as part of our degree. The vet staff and academics are very helpful in helping us students to get work-experience and provide us with a range of volunteering opportunities. Having this kind of support makes me feel as though there is always going to be someone there to help me when I need it, which is very helpful.

Having started her studies at Murdoch in Animal Science, after being treated for a painful disc herniation by a Chiropractor, Xiaojun discovered her passion for the health industries and decided to transfer into Murdoch’s Chiropractic Science course. Having never heard about Chiropractic Science before starting at Murdoch, I transferred degrees and I am now working towards becoming a Chiropractor myself.
Nursing is going to be a rewarding career and Murdoch is helping me to develop the skills I need to save lives. I think the Nursing school at Murdoch is excellent – it has a well-structured course that develops critical thinking in its students. The nursing simulation suites provide me with a great opportunity to link theory with practice and throughout my studies I have been able to learn and implement the clinical skills I will need as a working professional in the healthcare industry.

Murdoch was the only university in Australia which was offering my aspirations and interests in one course - the Master of Health Administration, Policy and Leadership. The leadership aspect attracted me because I want to be a global citizen leading change

I like studying at Murdoch for several reasons, the first being that Murdoch encourages you to think outside the box, which generates innovation and improves critical thinking between students. Secondly, Murdoch has strong industry links, where industry professionals come to Murdoch as guest-lecturers and educate us on the real-life applications of our degrees. Lastly, one of the things I really like about studying at Murdoch, is the support the University offers. Staff and lecturers are easily approachable and are always happy to help, where the students tend to take care of each other and the staff really do look after the students.

I have several friends who studied at Murdoch and I received good feedback from them. I love the trees and nature side of Murdoch. I love just sitting down under the sun and I enjoy that Perth is less crowded than both Melbourne and Sydney. I also love the beaches and the clear water."

I chose to study Engineering because I have always loved chemistry and wanted to have a strong future that I could rely on. By studying at Murdoch I got to follow this passion and travel to Perth, where I have met so many new people and made long-lasting friendships that I know I will have for years to come. I would recommend both Murdoch and Perth to my friends because it has been such a great experience for me in, not only improving my knowledge, but also my career and making new friends.

One of the reasons I chose to study at Murdoch was that they are one of the more ‘industry’ ready universities, offering quite specific courses. Both of my engineering majors are not taught in many universities in Australia, which to me, made Murdoch have the edge over others. My engineering degree requires that I complete more than 480 hours of industry experience before graduating. I was lucky enough to intern at Indonesia’s largest oil and gas company in their onsite refinery unit. I really enjoyed implementing what I had learnt in the labs at Murdoch and it was good to see that what I’m being taught at Murdoch is used on a daily basis by the engineering industry.
I have enjoyed my Murdoch experience so much. Both academic and non-academic staff are very helpful to all students. Our lecturers try to ensure we understand what we are being taught and can apply it to real life scenarios after graduation. They are always ready to respond to our enquiries both in class and online.

My experience at Murdoch has been wonderful. The campus is so relaxing, and I've been able to make friends from different countries and love the fact that the University is so multicultural. Orientation Week was helpful in getting accustomed to various aspects of life at Murdoch University and in Australia. The support staff and volunteers are also amazingly friendly and caring. They were so willing to help no matter how big or small the issue was.
I found Murdoch to have a significant student focused approach to teaching and learning in which students were prioritized. This granted me unimpeded access to academic staff members and student services when I was in need of both academic and pastoral support. My course had direct relevance in the real workplace, so I did not struggle with excessive theoretical classroom work. At the same time, I had ample opportunity to be creative with my research project on non-chemical grain storage. The practical field visits during my master's degree were also an eye opener to Australia’s expertise on border security
