Studying in America – The Application Process

The important first step is to check the entry requirements for your institution.

Applying for your chosen Universities can be a time consuming task, so make sure you narrow down your choices early on.

The application process and the documentation required to apply will depend on your home country - so do your research to figure it out in advance. Whilst you’re waiting to find out If you have been accepted by your chosen University, consider doing some preparatory tasks.

If English is not your first language, then consider learning some simple phrases to make the transition easier when you arrive in the USA.

Make sure you have all your documents in order before you set off. The following documents are worth taking with you, but there will be a long-list of documents to submit, so make sure you check the required documents depending on your home country.

• Copies of your passport and IDs.
• Your application form and additional documents.
• Certificate of language proficiency.
• Enrolment documentation.
• Health insurance and any other personal insurances.

Applying for a Visa

After you have received your offer to study at your chosen university, you will need to apply for an American student visa. Start this process as early as you can to avoid any delays that may occur on the way.

Make sure you read the Visa requirements thoroughly before you begin the process.
