“I’m really happy. Last week I got hired,” he says.

Outside of university, Bibek has fallen in love with life in Port Macquarie. Coming from Nepal, a landlocked country, living close to the ocean was a completely new experience for him.


He especially enjoys visiting beaches like Lighthouse Beach and exploring the surrounding coastal areas.


“They are very beautiful,” he says.


Swimming quickly became one of his favourite activities in Australia, particularly swimming in the ocean. He has also explored wildlife attractions including koala parks and experienced seeing kangaroos for the first time.


For Bibek, everyday life in Australia often feels exciting because so many things are new to him. Whether it is food, nature or culture, he says the experience has broadened his perspective on the world.

Making International Friends at Charles Sturt


One of the things Bibek values most about university life is meeting people from different cultures and countries. He says Charles Sturt gave him the chance to build friendships with students from all over the world.


“I love to make friends from different cultures,” he explains.


He mentions meeting students from countries including Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and several African nations. For Bibek, building these friendships is one of the best parts of studying abroad.


He describes himself as someone who believes strongly in connection and networking. Meeting people from different backgrounds has helped him grow personally and professionally during his time in Australia.

Bibek also enjoys travelling and exploring new places whenever he has the opportunity. Before moving to Australia, he had already travelled to countries like Thailand, Sri Lanka and India.


Since arriving in Australia, he has visited cities including Sydney, Newcastle and Darwin, and hopes to eventually explore every major Australian city.


Travel is one of his biggest hobbies, alongside volleyball, gaming and listening to music. He says living in Australia has made it much easier to experience different places, cultures and lifestyles.
