For Emma, studying abroad is not only about lectures and assignments. She is also excited to meet people, join activities and experience life in Australia outside the classroom.

ACU offers a soccer team that Emma plans to join, which she sees as a great way to stay busy and make friends. Student clubs and sports can make a huge difference for international students, especially during the first few weeks in a new country.

She also has a growing bucket list of things she wants to do while living in Brisbane. From visiting the beach for the first time to exploring more of the city, Emma is looking forward to trying “a bunch of different things in a place that’s so beautiful.”

Emma believes studying abroad is something students should absolutely consider, even if it feels intimidating at first. She describes the experience as something that may seem “crazy” in the beginning, but also believes it will lead to meeting lots of people and creating unforgettable memories.
